Health Standards Organization (HSO) develops standards, assessment programs and quality improvement solutions that have been adopted in over 14,000 locations across five continents. HSO is the only officially designated Standards Development Organization (SDO) dedicated to health and social services. Global standards
developed by HSO meet requirements of the International Society for Quality in Health Care.
High-quality standards are people-centred, evidence-informed, relevant, and responsive to current and future needs. They are the foundation of our Assessment Programs. Standards help answer the question: “What is the best way to do this?” Their impact comes with widespread adoption and use. Our approach to standards development ensures that voices of those who will use and benefit from the standard are heard. We also undergo rigorous third-party accreditation so that every standard we develop and use in our programs can be trusted to guide safe, reliable care.
Whether you are looking to make your mark as an individual or on behalf of your organization join a technical committee or give us your feedback through our public review of a draft standard. Your voice matters and we want to hear from you.

Ontario 211 Services (O211S) is the coordinating body for the delivery of the 211 service in Ontario, working closely with service delivery partners and front-line agencies at a local and provincial level. The 211 Ontario system delivers a navigation helpline and online search portal to help people across Ontario connect with the services they need to be well, from basic needs like food and housing to mental health and all types of social supports 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in over 150 languages. The 211 service can be accessed by phone, chat, email, and text and maintains a public online provincial database of over 60,000 programs and services located on our website.
Founded in 2009, the Ontario Brain Institute (OBI) emerged to address fragmentation in Ontario's neuroscience research landscape. While the province boasted world-class labs and promising discoveries, they operated separately and with minimal coordination. Over more than a decade, OBI has united this expertise under a shared mission: driving innovation and impact across patient care, policy, and the economy through funding, capacity building, and strengthening networks. As a provincially funded non-profit, OBI has supported thousands of patients while catalyzing meaningful change in brain health. Today, OBI champions a "team science" approach that brings together researchers, clinicians, industry partners, patients, and advocates to strengthen existing treatments and create new pathways to care. Critically, OBI leverages digital innovation—from data platforms and analytics to virtual care tools—to accelerate discovery and scale solutions across the province. By challenging the status quo and fostering seamless digital and physical connections between research discovery, clinical practice, and commercialization, OBI operates as a learning healthcare system where knowledge flows freely among all stakeholders. This collaborative, digitally-enabled model amplifies impact—transforming scientific breakthroughs into tangible benefits for patients and positioning Ontario as a leader in brain health innovation.
