Sandy has been a social worker for more than 35 years with the privilege of practicing social work in the Northwest Territories for the past 29 years. Her career has included medical social work, children’s mental health, NGO crisis work, suicide prevention, mental health systems development, and social work education.
Her current job is Territorial Manager, Mental Health and Community Wellness, for the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority. In 2023, Sandy was part of planning and implementing responses for multiple wildfire evacuations in the NWT and brings experience with virtual mental health resources from both a management and personal perspective.
